Not far from the Alsace Wine Route, the Auberge de l'Abbaye is located in Murbach, 10 minutes from Guebwiller (Haut-Rhin). We offer traditional Alsatian cuisine in a warm and friendly setting with medieval charm. The menu consists of local cuisine dishes and Alsatian specialties made with seasonal products, for a refined and authentic cuisine, combining tradition and quality.
In July 2018 and after a career start in a bakery, Bernard, passionate about the environment and the atmosphere of the place, decided to take over this restaurant left abandoned for 5 years. Today they are 6 passionate people (2 kitchen assistants, 1 cook, 1 dishwasher, 1 waiter and himself) to hold this place full of history!
For lunch or dinner, our restaurant room with its 50 seats welcomes you with friends or family. The Louis XVI style décor combined with the medieval spirit will make you experience authentic moments of sharing.
The cellar with a capacity of 25 covers is at your disposal to welcome you in family or in group, at the time of your banquets, communions, birthdays, festivals and excursions in Alsace.
The covered terrace, with a capacity of 40 covers, welcomes you in fine weather for a gastronomic break or a gourmet afternoon. Between the local and nature you will enjoy the Alsatian sun.

The traditional raclette at 22 euros with its accompanying charcuterie is sublime, you get what you pay for.
The boss is very nice.
I warmly recommend this place which is in a sublime setting.

The market menu was very hearty and delicious. A nice surprise near the old abbey. Nice hiking trails nearby, which can be enjoyed even with a baby.

The welcome was very good, despite the fact that the look of the hiker was a bit out of place with the elderly and the families in their Sunday best. The service was impeccable, discreet, efficient and funny at the same time; the decor was very pleasant and the plates well filled. This is not our first time, and certainly not the last either.
